Diamond Carat Weight.
When a person asks, “How many carats is it?” They typically are referring to a diamond’s size. However, the word “carats” is actually a term used for a stones weight and is derived from the carob seed which were used in ancient times for weighing the stones. Today, a 1 carat diamond weighs 0.2 grams.
